Discover What Makes WSD Special
We invite prospective grades applicants to join us for WSD Summer Discovery Days, a fun and engaging opportunity to experience our school firsthand during the summer months.
During the visit, applicants will meet current WSD students, connect with faculty and staff, and participate in some typical lessons offered at WSD during the school year including:
Main lesson
Skills class (such as math or writing)
Subject class (such as handwork)
Recess
Morning snack & lunch (packed from home)
After lunch, applicants will complete academic assessments in reading, writing, and math with a WSD faculty member as part of the admissions process.
What to Bring
There are no materials that you need to bring in the way of standard school supplies. We do, however, require that each student have the following gear:
Rain boots, pants, and coat (weather dependent)
Filled water bottle
Packed lunch and morning snack
Pair of inside shoes (clean shoes to be worn inside after taking off boots.)
Please apply sunscreen and bug spray prior to drop off as children will be outdoors for a portion of the morning.
Drop Off
Please park your car in our parking lot and come in the main entrance. You will check-in at the office and then head to the classroom.
We ask that you have your student here at the school by 8:00 am the morning of the visit to give time to meet the teacher and get them settled in.
You should not plan on being present during the visit, but the teacher may ask you to stay 10-15 minutes after drop-off to help your child feel more comfortable.
