A typewriter is an amazing tool for spurring inspiration and coaxing creativity to burst through the dreaded dam of "writer's block."

Typewriter Poetry Camp will feature more than a dozen vintage typewriters, so students can learn the mechanics of these machines as they prepare to use them to harness their poetic prowess and learn the acceptance and celebration of writing without the option to delete. Through impromptu typewriter compositions, collaborative writing, spoken word reading, and discussion, participants will nurture a new relationship with poetry, creative writing, improvisation, and human connection. Taught by professional writer, poet, and performer Lisa Marie Farver, the camp culminates with students crafting their own miniature typewritten poetry zines.
