  • Execute the Board of Trustee's legal and fiduciary directions through smooth running daily operations

  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations

  • Manage human resources and related labor law

  • Manage risk

  • Propose initiatives to support our financial position

  • Interpersonal conflict resolution skills and a background in HR a bonus.

  • Willingness to take courses in Waldorf Administration

(3-Day Transition Program, Tuesdays-Thursdays, ages 2.5 - 3.5)

Overview:

The Waldorf Early Childhood Assistant works in collaboration with our lead teacher to cultivate a warm classroom atmosphere that permeates our students' day with creative and meaningful experiences, allowing children to deeply immerse in play, develop their social awareness, and nourish their sense of wonder. The Early Childhood Assistant should strive to accomplish tasks in a calm, orderly, purposeful, and loving manner. Must guide children calmly and creatively toward appropriate behavior through a positive, self-aware approach to discipline and set definite and consistent limits.

Responsibilities:

Daily preparation and clean-up of various program activities, including snack, free play, baking, painting, outdoor play and crafts. Support the lead teacher in guiding individual children toward harmony within the class, during transitions, circle time, snack, story time, free play and outdoor activities. Helping children dress and undress for outdoor play in all weather.

Additional responsibilities include attending Parent-Teacher conferences, festivals, events related to the Early Childhood Program, and weekly department and faculty meetings.

Requirements:

Waldorf teacher training is desirable and we encourage and support our assistants to seek Waldorf teacher training, workshops, and enrichment opportunities. We require a basic understanding of the Waldorf philosophy and prior experience working with young children of mixed ages. Position is hired by the lead teacher and hiring committee.

The faculty of the Waldorf School of DuPage is seeking an experienced Spanish teacher to teach the Spanish language and introduce cultural experiences to our students in EC through Grade 8.  The position would involve planning and teaching twice weekly Spanish language lessons differentiated by grade level.  The Spanish teacher  also plays an integral role in bringing an enriching cultural experience to our community through the celebration of festivals.  This is a part time position which includes approximately eight lessons plus one planning period per week.

Job Overview

The Office Coordinator is responsible for managing the front office, supporting parents, students and faculty, and working with the administrative team to maintain smooth daily operations. In-person schedule. Eligible for remote work for inclement weather, illness, or similar circumstances only.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Open the school each morning. Greet students, release them to class, write late passes.

  • Manage the front office, ensuring a warm, clean, welcoming environment, both physically and energetically.

  • Perform and Manage front office duties: Answer phones, respond to parent inquiries, manage voicemail, greet and oversee the sign-in of visitors.

  • Maintain physical presence in the front office during school hours except as needed to meet other duties as listed below or for breaks less than 15 minutes unless otherwise agreed upon with the Administrator. 

  • Arrange coverage for the front office when not physically present for any amount of time per office coverage procedures. 

  • Manage the school store: Purchase stock, price items, assist customers in purchasing items using square.

  • Order all supplies for faculty and staff, including janitorial, office, school supplies, etc. 

  • Support the collection of Parent Driver forms, and additional required documentation such as background check permission forms for parents volunteering on overnight field trips.

  • Support the Class Parents and faculty in maintaining field trip folders in the front office for parents to turn in field trip forms and payments. Update the hard copy field trip calendar in the front office

  • Maintain the supply closet in the front office.

  • Manage the Lunch Program: Update and maintain Boonli website for lunch orders. Oversee the procurement and serving of snacks and lunches.
